So I've came to terms that Malaysia will never be like Canada. The cupcakes will never be as fluffy, the salmon sashimi will never taste as fresh etc. But I've been on a food crawl lately, being a tourist in my own hometown.
Places I liked, and will go there over and over again:
1) Chinoz on the Park, KLCC - best burger ever
2) Plan B, Bangsar Village & Paradigm Mall- enough said. Period.
3) Sprezza Coffee, Phileo Damansara - hot hipster barrista who makes good hot coffee
3) Sri Paandi's, Near UM - RM8 for mango lassi, but so worth it
4) Sri TTDI, TTDI Jaya- because I am still a Malay girl who likes her sambal kentang
5) Serai, Empire Mall - came for the pavlova, stayed for the fusion food
6) Melur & Thyme, KLCC - mocktails and malay-mat saleh food
7) Foodsbury, Seksyen 9 - small portion but that's what you get for cheap good food
8) Chawan, Jln Telawi & Citta Mall - Generous portion
9) Nutmeg, Bangsar Village - Authentic Rueben Sandwich but so frickin expensive
10) Artisan, Bangsar Village - because I like my mocha rich
11) Kelantan Delight - Buka puasa buffett FTW
Places I do not want to go again:
1) Wondermama - nothing wonderful about that
2) Wondermilk - overly hyped cupcakes. Do I see a wonderful pattern here?
3) Figaro - the nachos were so wrong
4) Johnny Rockets - dry burgers, instant frozen fries. Nothing compared to dodgy Canadian / USA Highway diners / bar food.
5) Upstairs, Subang - nothing memorable from there
Places I want to go:
1) The Daily Grind, Bangsar Village
2) Ben's General Foodstore, Bangsar Village
3) Antipodean, Jln Telawi
4) The Departure Lounge, Damansara Uptown..or TTDI?
5) The Good Batch, Damansara Uptown..or TTDI?
6) Garage 51, Subang
7) Coffea Coffee, Jln Telawi / The Curve
8) PikNik, Publika
